Etude ultrastructurale d'une haplosporidie parasite de la palourde Tapes decussatus L. ArchiMer
Joly, Jean-pierre; Comps, Michel.
The existence of a Haplosporidie parasite in the clam Tapes deucussatus has been demonstrated by Vilela (1950) with the description, based on classical histology observations, of a new species: Haplosporidium tapetis Vilela. Recently, the examination of the histological sections of the digestive glands of some clams from the Thau lagoon helped the scientists to find, in the stomachal epithelium, some forms comparable to the plasmodium of H. tapetis and to precise their ultrastructure.

Mise en évidence d'Haplosporidium sp. (Haplosporida - Haplosporidiidae) parasite de l'huître plate Ostrea edulis L. ArchiMer
Bachere, Evelyne; Grizel, Henri.
A new Haplosporidie has been observed in the flat oyster Ostrea edulis from the Mediterranean Sea. Different development stages have been described in light and electron microscopy. The characteristics of the spores and especially the presence of at least four sporal filaments enable us to distinguish this Haplosporidie from those already described in the Atlantic flat oysters. Different haplosporidies have been described in the oyster. Some are known as being pathogenic, Minchinia costalis (Andrews et al., 1962 and 1978; Couch 1967) and Minchinia nelsoni (Haskin et al., 1966; Farley 1968 and 1975), others, identified only recently, are considered as occasional parasites (Van Banning, 1977). During the research conducted on Bonamia ostreae (Pichot et al.,...

New Perspective On The Haplosporidian Parasites Of Molluscs ArchiMer
Arzul, Isabelle; Carnegie, Ryan B..
The protist phylum Haplosporidia comprises over 40 described species with representatives infecting a range of mollusc hosts, including several ecologically and economically significant pathogens. Continuing exploration of haplosporidian diversity has added ten new species in recent years and brought the phylogenetics of the group into somewhat clearer focus, with monophyletic Bonamia and Minchinia lineages continuing to be supported. However, the addition of new sequences to phylogenetic analyses has left the paraphyletic genus Haplosporidium’s picture less resolved. It is not clear that even two genera will be enough to accommodate the species presently drawn to the Haplosporidium regions of the haplosporidian tree. In this review, we summarize recent...
